HTBA HISTORY
The Hill-Tucker Bar Association is a professional organization serving Black attorneys, law students, and legal professionals in the greater Richmond, Virginia community. Named in honor of Oliver W. Hill, Sr. and Samuel W. Tucker, two of the most consequential civil rights attorneys in Virginia's history, the Association carries forward their commitment to justice, equality, and the advancement of Black legal professionals.
Guided by the principles of Excellence, Justice, and Equality, Hill-Tucker provides its members with opportunities for professional development, continuing legal education, community engagement, and meaningful connection with peers across the legal profession. We meet regularly throughout the year and serve as an active voice for equity within the legal community and beyond.
Our mission is to connect, empower, and advance Black legal professionals in the greater Richmond community, honoring the legacy of those who came before us and building the foundation for those who will follow.
